Lake Superior Shoreline Erosion Control & Custom Staircases
We’ll build you a riprap or hydroseeded shoreline that can end the erosion, win you back some land, and make your shoreline beautiful. If you have a steep hillside, and no stairs or rickety stairs, we can build you a custom aluminum staircase.
As one of the Great Lakes, Lake Superior has many miles of shoreline – no two of which are exactly the same. Some are beach-like, and others are cliff-like. If you’re reading this, you’re probably losing yours to erosion – the kind that’s made the news recently. You love Lake Superior, but you don’t want it to eat your property. Your shoreline may look something like this:
You probably don’t want your Great Lakes shoreline to make the news.
Lakeshore Guys® can help. We build the toughest and most-attractive shorelines money can buy. Our shorelines dot Lake Superior in places like Duluth / Park Point / Superior Bay and Port Wing.
If your shoreline isn’t on a steep slope, you may need riprap installed or repaired, as a way to prevent erosion. Our riprap shorelines will end erosion as no others can. (See photos here.) Here’s a Lake Superior Bay shoreline we restored recently:
Here are some videos and more photos that show how that particular shoreline held up in a giant storm in October of 2018. This diagram shows the basic idea.
If your shoreline is a steep slope or cliff, you’ll probably want hydro-seeding. It’s a way to reintroduce grass that can prevent mudslides.
We’ve done steep-slope shoreline-restoration on Lake Superior. Here are some before-and-after photos of a recent one:
Custom aluminum staircase construction on Lake Superior
Besides the slow-motion mudslide, do you know the other scary thing about an eroding shoreline? Walking down to it. If you live above a steep embankment – as many people who live on Superior do – you may have a staircase, and you may or may not like it, and you may say a prayer every time you walk on it. If you live on Lake Superior and need a staircase that’s durable, safe, and beautiful, consider a custom-built aluminum staircase built by Lakeshore Guys®.
