If you’re an experienced landscape foreman or already have most of the pieces, consider a career in shoreline restoration. As an experienced landscaper, you’ve already got most of what it takes to crossover into shoreline work. Apply now or read on to find out more.
This is a shoreline landscape foreman job opening. We’re interested in talking with you if you fall into at least one of two buckets:
1. You’re an experienced landscaper who’s also got experience running a crew (or feels that they can, but hasn’t yet been given the opportunity).
2. Or you’re all-around mechanically inclined (as in you do things like rebuild an engine, weld, design and build a shed, run Romex to a new fixture, etc.) and you have experience running a crew.
If either of those describes you, read on for a little more detail on what we do and where you might fit in.

Our photographer wanted us to sit for the photo – but Lakeshore Guys never sit down on the job!
Shoreline landscape foreman job description:
Build on landscaper skills and/or mechanical skills to become a shoreline restoration expert who builds and restores shorelines in Minnesota.
You’ll learn the craft of shoreline restoration inside and out so you’re good enough to run our job site. That will take time no matter what, of course. But there may be less of a learning curve if you’ve ever owned a small company or have run a crew in the past. At the end of the day, no matter what your background is, you will have to start a bit lower on the totem pole. From there, it’s up to you, your workethic (and potentially your past experience) to show us how just fast you can master this new skill set.

What our shoreline landscape foreman does NOT do:
Before we get into the specific qualifications and talk about how this role differs from the typical landscape foreman’s job, we need to run through a few basics of what this is NOT:
• It’s not summer-only work. So it’s probably a no-go for college students.
• It’s not work that agrees with physical disabilities or ailments. We wish health issues didn’t factor into the day-to-day work, but they do.
• It’s NOT landscaping. We work strictly on bodies of water. If you’re an experienced landscaper you’ll be very familiar with many of the concepts and processes, but you’ll also need to learn the ins and outs of shoreline restoration.
You, our shoreline foreman, must live north of the Twin Cities and near Forest Lake, MN
You live in the right neck of the woods for this job if you live within 20 miles of our Forest Lake HQ.
Why does it matter where you live, if you’re a qualified landscape foreman? Well, because we’ve found that guys who live farther than about 20 miles from us are MUCH more likely to get burned out. We don’t know exactly why that is, but we’d guess it has to do with the fact that you’ve got to drive to our HQ often and then drive to the jobsite, which is often up north a piece.
We realize 20 miles is not many “Minnesota miles,” and we know an excellent foreman could be just a few miles outside, and we know it’s possible that you have a higher-than-average tolerance for driving. Just the same, we’d rather have a frustrating job posting for you than a frustrating job for you.
For the record, we’re told that these are the specific places within 20 miles of our Forest Lake HQ:
Almelund, Andover, Arcola, Arden Hills, Bald Eagle, Bellaire, Bethel, Birchwood, Blaine, Blomford, Bodum, Bonnie Glen, Cardigan Junction, Carnelian Junction, Cedar, Center City, Centerville, Chisago City, Circle Pines, Constance, Coon Creek, Coon Lake Beach, Coon Rapids, Coopers Corner, Copas, Dellwood, Dresser, Duluth Junction, East Bethel, East Farmington, Forest Lake, Franconia, Fridley, Gem Lake, Gladstone, Gloster, Grant, Ham Lake, Hoffmans Corner, Horse Creek, Houlton, Hugo, Isanti, Johnsville, Kost, Lake Netta, Lake Shore Park, Lexington, Lindstrom, Lino Lakes, Linwood, Little Canada, Mahtomedi, Marine On Saint Croix, Martin Lake, Mort, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Branch, North Oaks, North Saint Paul, Northdale, Nye, Oak Grove, Oak Park Heights, Osceola, Otisville, Palmdale, Pine Springs, Saint Croix Falls, Saint Francis, Scandia, Shafer, Shoreview, Soderville, Somerset, Spring Lake Park, Stacy, Stillwater, Sunrise, Taylors Falls, Thompson Heights, Thompson Riverview Terrace, Vadnais Heights, Weber, West Coon Rapids, Weston, White Bear Beach, White Bear Lake, Willernie, Withrow, and Wyoming.
